Welcome to my world. I’m Pam and I repurpose rescued and pre-loved textiles, transforming them into treasured garments and saving them from landfill. These sustainable and one off, garments are made from vintage and pre-loved tablecloths, curtains, scarves, discarded and scrap fabric and are individually cut and made, often patching and matching complimentary textiles resulting in a unique item of clothing. These garments include ladies kimonos, dungarees, shirts, boho tassel tops, jackets and coats, as well as men’s shirts and jackets.
I am an experienced clothing designer originally from Cape Town now living in Scotland. Since relocating I have dedicated myself to creating garments from repurposed, rescued and preloved textiles. Some of these have been originally manufactured in the textile mills along the Hillfoots region of Clackmannanshire, where I now live. Each garment is aimed at transforming discarded fabrics into cherished treasures, thereby saving them from landfill. Where possible I love to enhance my designs with a traditional South African fabric called SHWESHWE which is known for it’s intricate prints and vibrant colours. By doing so I hope to introduce the beauty and diversity of African textiles to a broader audience..
In my creative process I carefully select textiles that are often overlooked or discarded, combining complimentary scrap fabric into unique items of clothing. This approach promotes environmental sustainability and showcases the potential of upcycled materials. Every garment tells a story of transformation and renewal, reflecting a commitment to both quality and eco-conscious fashion.
My mission is to create fashion that is not only beautiful and functional but inspires others to consider the environmental impact of their clothing choices and see the value of what might otherwise be discarded. Through my work I aim to make a difference, transforming the way we think about fashion and it’s role in the world, one garment at a time.
As with all vintage and preloved textiles great care should be taken when washing the garments. In some cases dry clean only will apply but generally hand wash separately in cold to warm water is recommended. Tumble drying is not advised.
